Design Manager – 100% (m/f)

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and results-oriented engineering professional with over 12 years of experience in managing complex infrastructure and building projects.

This role requires strategic leadership in coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, managing project risks, and ensuring technical and commercial delivery excellence.

A proven track record in stakeholder engagement, design quality control, and value-driven engineering solutions is essential.

Experience in energy-efficient design, digital delivery coordination (e.g., BIM), and resource planning will be considered an added advantage.

The role requires both high-level technical acumen and strong interpersonal capabilities to lead teams, maintain client confidence, and align design outputs with project goals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams across infrastructure and built environment projects, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate all stages of design, from concept through detailed design and IFC submissions, ensuring integration of client requirements and authority standards.
• Drive technical excellence by implementing QA/QC processes and promoting best practices across all disciplines (civil, MEP, structural, architectural, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, authorities, and contractors to manage expectations, address technical queries, and achieve approvals.
• Support digital delivery processes including BIM coordination, design documentation management, and structured review workflows.
• Identify and mitigate design risks, particularly related to environmental, regulatory, sustainability, and technical interfaces.
• Lead internal resource planning and manage team development and engagement within the design stream.
• Contribute to value engineering, innovation, and whole-life design strategies including low carbon and energy-efficient system integration.
• Prepare project reports, progress documentation, and present status updates to internal leadership and client teams.
• Support proposal development and contribute to design planning and fee estimation for new opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering; Master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in design/project management with significant exposure to GCC projects.
• Prior experience leading building services or multidisciplinary design teams is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of regional codes, authority standards, and construction processes.
• Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing large, complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
• A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of land development design, construction methodologies, and relevant industry standards.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
