Job Title: Lathe Machine Operator
Job Summary:
The Lathe Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining manual and CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal components.
The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings to achieve high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor manual or CNC lathe machines to perform turning, facing, threading, and boring operations.
Interpret and work from mechanical and engineering drawings accurately.
Set up machines with appropriate tools, materials, and speeds as per job requirements.
Measure and inspect finished components using precision tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to keep machines in optimal working condition.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.
Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to meet daily production targets.
Identify and troubleshoot machining issues promptly.
Demonstrate willingness to adapt and learn new technologies and machining processes.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirement: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating lathe machines.
Preferred: Previous Gulf experience will be an added advantage.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of lathe machine operation and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges).
Sound understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and material properties.
Commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
