Job Summary
:
In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes.
You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for mechanical matters.
Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team.
Major Responsibilities:
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of mechanical components and processes used utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines Provides technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposalsEducation and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and experience with mechanical systems design including HVAC systems, emergency ventilation systems, pumping systems, horizontal & vertical transportation systems (elevators, escalators and moving walks) and building maintenance systems.Familiarity with applicable national and international design codes.Familiarity with sustainability design requirements applicable to conservation of energy and water supplies and third party sustainability accreditation requirements such as LEED.Understanding of airline industry and international regulatory codes, standards and design criteria relating to airport design.Experience with integration of airport mechanical systems into building management systems.Knowledge of interface management and the management of system to civil and system to system interfaces.Possesses working knowledge and production ability with computer-aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.Possesses a working knowledge of BIM processes, including experience designing projects in BIM platforms, particularly Revit and Navisworks.
