Job Description
The Technical Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects by conducting comprehensive reviews of all project documents, facilitating coordination across different disciplines, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
This position provides essential technical support to the Construction Team, ensuring all information is complete and up to date.
The scope of responsibilities extends to additional tasks as required and directed by the Project Director/Manager.
Design Phase:
Act as a key liaison between the Design Manager, Construction Manager, and client representatives, ensuring all necessary site inputs, specific requirements, and client change orders are effectively communicated to the design team. Support the design team with guidance on local regulations, permits, and requirements. Facilitate assistance from the design team for any issues that require design analysis. Construction Phase:
Manage the preparation and follow-up of all trackers to monitor submittals (drawings, method statements, material submittals, and RFIs) strictly. Review PMIs/RFIs and identify any variations to the original contract, compiling a list of observed changes for the notifications/claims process team member. Coordinate between different disciplines to ensure drawings are consistent and contain the latest information, cascading updates to all involved parties. Ensure proper documentation and revision of drawings, complete with revision notes, clouds, numbers, and reasons for changes (such as PMI, SI, or RFI) for commercial substantiation support. Conduct thorough reviews/checks of all submittals to ensure compliance with Project Standards and inclusion of all necessary information. Assist in preparing the Progress Report on the Status of Submissions. Prepare all technical input for procurement packages, including drawings and specifications. Review all material submittals to ensure they meet specifications and project drawings. Assist in solving clashes between different trades by guiding the team to the best solution for the project and taking each trade into consideration.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience as a Technical Manager on large-scale construction projects, particularly in stadium construction. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Sound understanding of project management principles and practices. Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of complex contractual requirements. Extensive experience in client-facing roles, able to effectively engage and manage client interactions. Adherence to local and international construction regulations and environmental standards. Clear communication and ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent English language skills.
Additional languages, especially Arabic can be a plus. Open to work across all countries of the Middle East.
